“Knock the System” Canvassing Volunteer Call Out

Tao, po! We’ll be at the doors from late May to June knocking on doors and canvassing in our Santa Clara Neighborhoods. We’re relaunching our volunteer canvassing program to teach folks about OG organizing. Our nonpartisan canvassing program reaches deep into the community to understand at a singular level what the Filipina/x/o and FilAms in Santa Clara County care about.

What is canvassing?

Canvassing is form of grassroots organizing where organizations knock door to door to spread awareness about issues that affect their community. By canvassing in person, we aim to build and strengthen connections with our neighbors to understand what problems they care about so they can feel empowered to mobilize around it.

We’ll be in San Jose city districts through out May and June. Every shift will be in a different neighborhood. More details will be sent out after registering.

Snacks, water, materials, and shirts will be provided to volunteers. Bring your friends, organization -even coworkers! This is a great way to meet like minded folks who want to be civically engage and educate the Filipina/x/o community about local issues.

You can also get volunteer hours signed off! If you are under 18, your guardian will need to signa consent form. Please email us at info@leadfilipino.org.
