Civic Organizer, Angela Pedrigal, spoke at @naffaa.national’s 2026 National Empowerment Conference in Colorado 🇵🇭.

She spoke on a national panel, “Protecting the Ballot: Voting Rights and the Power of the Filipino Vote in 2026,” alongside Filipino American leaders from across the country! 🫶🏼
Voting is a habit, and Civic Engagement is a relationship. Through year-round organizing, civic education, and leadership development, Angela leaves hopeful comments about building lasting Filipino American civic power from the grassroots up. ✊🏽
Maraming salamat to @naffaa.national for bringing us together and organizing our community year-round.

Summer has flown by! ☀️😎

School is starting up for many students in our community and we’re appreciative for the opportunity to welcome families and youth back-to-school at @aaciorg’s annual Back-to-School Health Fair.
Our current Kalusugan [Health] Advocacy & Awareness in Action Cohorts volunteered with us to share resources, help teach community members Tagalog words through an interactive game, and get folks plugged into our programs, services, and resources.
See everyone again next year!

School Portrait or our Q3 Membership Mixer? 🤔

We had a blast mixing it up with our community members last week sharing updates, learning what fuels their commitment to social change, and dreaming of what a future rooted in social justice looked like together!
Thank you to everyone who came and we looking forward to working towards a future that is rooted in health equity, culturally-responsive education, basic human rights, racial justice, grassroots leadership, and civic participation.
See you all at our last quarterly meeting on October 14th from 6-8PM PST in San José, CA.

Shout outs to everyone who attended our summer Giving Circle this past weekend!

The open, vulnerable and honest conversations about the challenges facing Filipina/x/o American youth, families and communities reminded us that these spaces make a difference. Community building is a shared and intentional practice, and one that we love continuously cultivating!
Thank you to everyone who showed up and shared their stories, with a special thank you to our Board Co-Hosts Dr. Rowena Tomaneng and Meredith Curry Nuñez, Mountain View Mayor Emily Ann Ramos, and Giving Circle Member Grace-Sonia Melanio who spoke about why she supports our mission.
Giving Circle Members make this work possible. Their generosity fuels year-round organizing, grassroots leadership development, and community programs that advance Filipina/x/o American representation.

Just finished an incredible roundtable with FilAm educators and faculty advisors from East Side Union High School District!

We had representatives from Independence High School, James Lick High School, Andrew P. Hill High School, and Silver Creek High School in the house. We discussed ways to deepen our partnerships to support the advancement, leadership development, and wellbeing of FilAm youth, parents, and families as we start a new academic year together.
Thank you to our partners @fycsanjose and @sistertosister_hr360 for joining this critical conversation.

LEAD Filipino and FANHS Santa Clara Valley (FANHS-SCV) was proud to be well represented at the FANHS Biennial Conference in Washington DC.

From various FANHS members, trustees, youth leaders presenting workshops, moderating plenary sessions, and seeing youth shine on Auntie Dorothy’s panel discussing young entrepreneurs, family businesses, and the importance of preserving our history, our chapter was honored to share our passion and work with the broader Filipino American community.
Maraming salamat to everyone who made this conference so memorable. Until next time!

With the Primary Elections concluding a little over a month ago, we have been reflecting, regrouping, and analyzing the results of the elections.

Half the year has already gone by – so much has happened since we started our program season, including our voter engagement work.
With the Primary Elections concluding a little over a month ago, we have been reflecting, regrouping, and analyzing the results of the elections – and most especially, what we learned through our Get out the Filipino Vote (GOTFV) efforts.
While it is easy to quickly move on to the next campaign or initiative, we believe pausing and assessing what worked and what did not is crucial to sustaining our work.
This past spring, our GOTFV campaign aimed to contact 15,000 Filipino and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) voters across California, Nevada and Texas. To achieve this goal, our members and field organizers canvassed and called voters in San José, Daly City, San Diego, Las Vegas and San Antonio.
At the end of our program, we reached over 99,000 voters—and we are just getting started.

Celebrating our 11th Annual Awareness in Action Cohort with an amazing class of 15 individuals ranging from California, Washington, and Texas!

Our annual summer Filipina/x/o Studies & Civic Engagement program educates, engages, and exposes Filipina/x/o adults and students to developing their social identities through the lens of being informed, having deepened knowledge of public issues, and ultimately, carrying awareness in their actions as they develop their leadership.
Shoutout to our instructors James, Jeaniel, and John for their passion and support in leading our staple program!

Great to be at the @apiavote Leadership Summit with advocates and partners like @ncapagrams, @saavetxef, @naffaa.national and others from across the country discussing how we can strengthen AAPI civic engagement.

From engaging the next generation of voters and expanding language access to protecting voting rights and building year-round organizing efforts, this summit reinforced that building lasting civic power takes collaboration across communities.
Excited to bring these ideas and lessons back to our organization as we continue working alongside our communities to strengthen FilAm and AAPI civic participation!
Thank you to @apiavote for convening organizers across the country and strengthening our collective work.
