Policy Advocacy

We believe that systems change is a people-driven process that must begin at the grassroots level, with direct engagement in our democracy through not only registering voters, but shaping public policy with Filipino American experiences in mind. Our approach is guided by Ethnic Studies frameworks, Filipino cultural values including Kapwa, Pakikisama, and Bayanihan, and advancing the social determinants of health. 

Systems can only change when communities organize, participate and engage. As an organization primarily focused on increasing Filipino and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) engagement, we recognize that our population numbers alone do not translate to power — only organizing does that. 

Through grassroots coalitions like FIERCE, AAPI-FORCE and AAFT, we drive our public policy agenda through legislative advocacy at the state level to ensure Filipino American voices are heard in the public arena.
