LEAD Filipino LV is partnering with FYLPRO to host a Community Mixer & Membership Meeting this Friday, June 27 from 6-8:30PM at a local Filipino small business. 

We will be joined by special guests, Audie Vergara, head of the Apl.de.Ap Foundation and Tita Rozita Lee, longtime community advocate and champion for the recent naming of Filipino Town Las Vegas. I will moderate a fireside chat with Tita Rozita, focused on her leadership and vision for Filipino Town. It’ll be an excellent opportunity for community members to meet a local legend while learning about how to support continuing Filipino Town development efforts.

Heavy appetizers will be sponsored by LEAD Filipino and attendees can expect to:

• Learn about LEAD Filipino, our mission, programs and chapter activities
• Learn about FYLPRO
• Connect with other Filipino community members and organizational leaders
• Hear more about LEAD Filipino LV civic projects, including supporting Filipino Town

After more than three years of planning and thoughtful consideration, we are proud to officially launch our Las Vegas Chapter. The growth of our organization has been slow and intentional, ensuring that we remain grounded in the community-focused activism that defines our work in San José.

Our efforts in San José have been deeply rooted in hyperlocal, neighborhood activism, and we spent a lot of time considering how best to translate this mission to other cities. This weekend’s (9.21.24) Las Vegas Chapter launch reaffirmed that, with the support of our friends, partners, and members who call Las Vegas home, we are fully capable of establishing a chapter that both reflects and advances our civic mission. We are excited to continue empowering the Filipino American community across Las Vegas, building on the strong foundation of advocacy, cultural pride, and civic engagement that LEAD Filipino stands for.

With this launch, we look forward to creating meaningful change and opportunities for FilAm individuals and families throughout the Las Vegas area, ensuring that our voice and values continue to have a lasting impact.
