9.8.26 – Standing with H-1B Educators in TX

Texas public schools need more teachers in classrooms.

For decades, immigrant educators, including Filipino teachers, have helped fill critical teacher shortages and strengthen public schools across Texas.

Governor Abbott’s proposal to end H-1B sponsorship for educators would put another barrier in front of school districts already struggling to recruit and retain qualified teachers. And with Asian immigrants making up a significant share of H-1B visa holders, we know policies like these disproportionately affect our communities.
