12.12.23 – Mar Abat becomes Voter Education Outreach Coalition Chair of County of Santa Clara

We are proud to announce that Mar Abat, our Project Coordinator & Local Policy Organizer, will be the Chair of the Voter Education and Outreach Coalition (VEOC). In this role, the VEOC Chairperson will evaluate and decide on the coalition’s 2024 outreach program, leading the implementation of said outreach program, scheduling and facilitating meetings, and overseeing email and message correspondence with other VEOC members.

The Voter Education and Outreach Coalition (VEOC) is a diverse collection of community members who work cooperatively with the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters to inform voters about changes relating to the Voter’s Choice Act implementation, provide feedback on the new outreach messaging and tools, help identify and invite any additional communities missing from the conversation, and assist with the staffing at vote center locations. Community members are free to join VEOC!
