11.30.23 – Heal the Hyphen: How Journaling Can Help You Feel Whole

Summary

We successfully concluded our final Holistic Health Workshop of the year with, “Heal the Hyphen: How Journaling Can Help You Feel Whole,” last month on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, featuring Jaki Joanino-Sipat (and @malyari.co)! Maraming salamat to everyone who participated in our enriching evening of meditation, journaling, and engaging conversations about the experiences of Filipinx/a/o Americans in the diaspora.

During our workshop, Jaki skillfully guided us through various journal prompts, facilitating a deep exploration of our unique identities. Our goal was to have attendees leaving the space feeling more grounded and intimately connected not only with ourselves but also with our ancestors.

Now presenting the Heal the Hyphen Guided Journal—a tool crafted specifically for you to empower you on your path of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.

This beautifully designed journal is created for those of us who have either moved abroad as children or were born outside the Philippines. It is a compassionate companion, helping you unravel the layers of your identity and your roots. Let this journal guide you towards a deeper understanding of you and your family’s journey while you pave your own path forward.

What is Malyari Co.

Malyari Co. is dedicated to sharing the captivating stories and rich cultural experiences of Filipinos living in the diaspora. Filipinxs/as/os have historically been underrepresented in literature and books. It’s time to be the main characters of our stories.

They firmly believe in the power of storytelling to bridge gaps, foster understanding, and celebrate our unique journeys. Their mission is to curate a collection of literary works that highlight the diversity of the Filipino diasporic experience.

Although this was our last workshop, we look forward to reconnecting with each one of you in 2024, when we restart our health workshop series!

Keep up to date with our latest events.
