8.22.25 – Our Statement on California’s Propsition 50 Redistricting Effort
This November, voters in California will face a critical decision on the special election ballot. California’s Proposition 50 is a measure that counteracts the extreme, undemocratic gerrymandering taking place in Texas that is designed to rig districts and silence our voices.
LEAD Filipino operates in both California and Texas, states that are key battlegrounds for our community’s political power. FilAms are a growing force, making up a significant portion of the population in both California and Texas.
It is clear that our community must mobilize to ensure that FilAm Callifornians are aware that Prop 50 will be on the ballot, get out the vote, and understand what is at stake.
