11.22.24 – LEAD Filipino attends the FAHM White House Celebration in Washington, D.C.
On October 21st, three members of our organization were invited to celebrate Filipino American History Month (FAHM) at the White House!
Cameron Sasai represented in his capacity as a local elected official, Gabriel Young as a former White House staffer, and our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Angelica Cortez spoke on a panel alongside San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and NaFFAA Leader Chris Rivera about building civic power within FilAm communities. In short, the Bay was in the Area!
What an incredible experience to meet game-changing FilAms from across the United States — the convening reminded us of our community’s individual and collective genius and strength throughout all sectors and systems.
