We are looking for volunteer canvassers and phone bankers to join us this summer in Los Angeles!
The Asian American Voter Empowerment project also known as AAVEP is a community-based voter registration program across Los Angeles including LEAD Filipino and partners, Pilipino Workers Center (PWC), Asian Business Association Foundation, APIA Vote, One Down Media and Asian Journal.
In the past two decades, Asian Americans have become one of the fastest growing racial or ethnic groups in the United States. Between 2000 and 2019, the Asian population in the United States grew by 81%, and the population is projected to pass 35 million by 2060.
AAVEP will be spearheaded by multiple Filipina/x/o and Asian American serving nonprofit organizations and will aim to register eligible Asian American voters historically excluded from voter registration and education efforts in the densely populated and often hard-to-reach areas of Los Angeles.
