As a proud partner of the Voter Mobilization and Outreach Project with the Asian Law Alliance of Santa Clara County, LEAD Filipino has set out to take action throughout this fall to help with local efforts to register Santa Clara County voters to take action during this non-election year. A leading priority of our organization is to ensure that our community members are engaged in democratic and electoral processes in ways that are both personable and tangible.
Led by Kevin Suarez, our Head Organizer for Voter Outreach and his team Mandy Ngu, Christelle Aldea and Nicole Liston, this past Tuesday, September 26th, they helped other community partners register 221 new voters at the County of Santa Clara’s Naturalization Ceremony, held at the Heritage Theatre in Campbell, CA! That’s amazing!
Kevin and his crew will continue to serve and register voters throughout this fall and into January, as we know that non-election years aren’t hall passes for inactivity but rather catalysts to organize and engage communities to get excited for mid-term and local elections in 2018.
