2017 Theme: Reflection, Inspiration, and Empowerment
On December 3rd and 4th, both our Organizing and Advisory Teams gathered for our Annual Winter Retreat. The purpose of this convening was to strengthen our relationships, reflect on the past year, and plan our organization’s growth in 2017.
2016 — A Year In Review: Over the course of this past year, we challenged ourselves by developing content, forging partnerships, and staying disciplined in our Vision as an organization. Only a year-old (although some could say six), we’ve achieved great heights and deep successes for L.E.A.D Filipino. From our inaugural Awareness in Action Summer Leadership Program, to a well-received Eastside Entrepreneurs, a string of Workshops, and most recently, our response to the Clinton/Trump Presidential Race — the IBOTO Pilipino Collaborative. The reward for this work is — and always will be — the joining of community in the name of connecting, learning, and exposing.
Throughout next year, we will be centering our programs and events on the Theme of: “Reflection, Inspiration and Empowerment”.
Reflection: As a budding organization with a developing identity, we will take pause throughout the year to evaluate our programs and events’ impact, influence and uplifting of Filipin@s in the South Bay community.
Inspiration: Continuing our work in creating positive linkages between our Valley’s Filipin@ professionals and rising leaders, we will facilitate dialogue and speaker opportunities from some of our community’s local Filipin@ sheroes and heroes.
Empowerment: Every program and event we create, development and bring to the community will be rooted in empowering and elevating the voices, experiences and stories of Filipin@s.
2017, we’ve got a lot in-store for you!
