About Filipino American History Month (FAHM)
For thirty years, Filipino American History Month (FAHM) has been celebrated during the month of October by Filipina/x/o American (FilAm) communities nationwide.
Following years of campaigning and advocacy by both the civil society and grassroots organizations, the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) established Filipino American History Month in 1992. In 2009, Congress recognized the month of October officially as Filipino American History Month in the United States.
Becoming a rich annual tradition of Filipino cultural celebrations, art and educational events, October is both busy and bustling – and the case is no different for our organization.
