5.01.24 – Celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month

Greeting everybody a Happy Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander [AANHPI] Heritage Month!

Passed by the 95th Congress in 1977, with leadership from Senator Daniel Inouye, as Pacific/Asian American Week, May would officially become AAPI Heritage Month in 1990 and in 2021, it would become known as AANHPI Heritage Month. Throughout the month, we celebrate the stories of Asian Pacific America by highlighting the contributions and achievements of the more than 30 AANHPI ethnic groups in the country.

This year’s AANHPI Heritage Month theme is “Advancing Leaders Through Innovation” to honor the visionaries and trailblazers who influenced and continue to shape our collective AANHPI history, present, and future. At more than 24 million AANHPI’s in the United States, we not only hail from over 30 different countries, we speak more than 100 languages!

Throughout this month, we will be partnering, producing, and hosting a series of AANHPI cultural and health-focused events across Silicon Valley.
