We successfully concluded our final Holistic Health Workshop of the year with, "Heal the Hyphen: How Journaling Can Help You Feel Whole," featuring Jaki Joanino-Sipat (and @malyari.co)! Maraming salamat to everyone who participated in our enriching evening of meditation, journaling, and engaging conversations about the experiences of Filipinx/a/o Americans in the diaspora. We are happy to announce that Paula will be joining our Organizer Team as our new Queermittee Director! Paula steps into this leadership role with us after serving on the Queermittee since its inception. In March 2023, we partnered with the George Washington University to conduct a national survey on "Philippine American Policy Perspectives" to better understand the factors that influence our community’s beliefs and opinions around topics such as identity, education, immigration policy, civil rights, social welfare, family dynamics, conventional beliefs, and cultural traditions. Our Founder & Executive Director, Dr. Angelica Cortez, was invited to attend the White House’s Filipino American History Month [FAHM] Reception in Washington, DC earlier this week. Meet another of our newest LEAD Filipino Organizers, E! In Tagalog, the word “Bayanihan”describes the activities of civic unity and cooperation among people.  We are excited to announce one of our newest LEAD Filipino Organizers, Angela! We hosted another successful Silicon Valley Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) alongside our partners @aaci @asianlawalliance @apali_org @varoundtable! Through our theme “The Multiverse,” we recognized and embraced the diverse backgrounds of AAPIs, the different realities and challenges we face, and the various ways we can work together in solidarity towards a better future! Look twice! That’s us registering voters, sharing civic information, and connecting with FilAms and broader community members across our city!😎
