LEAD Filipino seeks to increase the voices of FilAms in civic engagement and public leadership.

Based on the principles of increasing minority representation, maintaining integrity in our democratic processes, and building cross-racial solidarity, LEAD Filipino promotes justice and equity across a series of programs, services, and initiatives.

Our primary issue areas include:

  • Affirmative Action
  • Economic Justice
  • Ethnic Studies
  • Public Safety
  • Racial Equity
  • Voting Rights

Our organization’s educational programs and services are founded on the teachings and tenets of Ethnic and Filipinx Studies. In this beliefs, we center our curriculum and related frameworks on three grounding questions of Ethnic Studies, as formulated by the late Pinay scholar and inspiration, Dr. Dawn Mabalon:

  1. Who am I?
  2. What is my family’s story in the United States?
  3. What positive changes can I make in my community?
